Established in 2013 in B.C., Canada, Vancouver Coastal College is a non-profit, independent post-secondary educational institution focused on providing professional development/enrichment programs for students and practitioners in the fields of education, applied psychology, management, and health.
Courses which have been offered recently included, “Program Planning and Risk Management,” “Mindful Parents and Resilient Children,” and “Family Therapy and Counselling.”
Our training director, Dr. Chak-Kwong Au, is an internationally recognized scholar and trainer. Professionally trained in social work, family therapy, and public administration, he was an associate professor at the Chinese University of Hong Kong before moving to Canada. He is currently the Program Leader of the Mental Health Promotion and Counselling Team of the Vancouver Coastal Health Authority in the City of Richmond. He was continuously elected a School Trustee from 1999 to 2011 and has served twice as the Vice-Chairperson of the Richmond Board of Education. He has co-edited and co-authored two academic books in family therapy and counselling.
